Sue Bargetto
Event owner and coordinator
I have been dreaming of creating this event for a very long time. It makes me so happy to finally be able to present it to you. Once you read all about the schedule I have created, I hope you will decide to join me during this four-day gathering for some relaxation, art, laughter, and for sure new friendships. I can’t wait to welcome you to Girl Crush!
Are you looking for a relaxing vacation, where you can leave everything behind and just be? Do you love art, beautiful scenery, and a glass of wine to unwind? Girl Crush is the perfect getaway for you! This retreat is a small gathering of 30 like-minded women looking to take in the sights, learn new skills, and meet new friends.

Questions? I have answers!
Where Should I stay?
I have blocked 15 rooms at the Capitola by the Sea, Quality Inn and Suites. We have had many family members stay here and they have been very happy, it is centrally located for all the events that we will be attending. Ask for the Bargetto Party when booking. The Facebook group is a great place to find someone to carpool or share a room with.
- 1 King Bed – $145
- 2 Queen Beds – $152
Another option is to find an Air BnB nearby. If you need any help with this please do not hesitate to reach out for assistance.
What if I would like to extend my stay?
Santa Cruz is a beautiful place to visit and if you want to make a longer vacation out of your stay there are many things to do. Here are just a few of my favorite attractions…
- Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Amusement Park with its famous 95 year old roller coaster, The Giant Dipper.
- Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf
- Monterey, just 45 minutes away.
- San Francisco, about 1.5 hours away
Don’t hesitate to ask any questions about possibly staying longer!
Where should I fly into?
All airports are 30 minutes to 1.5 hours from the property without traffic. Highway 17 is the road you will be traveling to get to Soquel from the northern airports. This highway is best traveled earlier in the day when it is still light out and when there is less traffic.
The airports to choose from are:
- Mineta San Jose International Airport. (North) 1701 Airport Blvd, San Jose. 47 miles away. I recommend this airport. It is the closest and the easiest to use.
- Oakland International Airport. (North) 1 Airport Dr., Oakland 53 miles away
- San Francisco International Airport. (North) 780 S. Airport Blvd. San Francisco 65.2 miles away. Probably the least expensive tickets can be purchased using this airport. The drawback is it’s big and there is so much more traffic between San Francisco and the destination.
- Monterey Regional Airport. (South) 200 Fred Kane Dr. Monterey 35.9 miles away. Very small and usually expensive. But worth checking out pricing.
